Floodplain and Drainage PDF Print E-mail

Floodplain and regional drainage management are part of the West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority’s core business statutory responsibilities. The floodplain management and rural drainage functions of the Authority have been assigned under the provisions of the Water Act 1989.

Guidelines for Development in Flood Prone Areas

These Guidelines were developed as a useful reference tool for property owners, developers, designers or builders looking to develop land in a flood prone area. A hardcopy of these guidelines is available from our office in Traralgon. These guidelines aim to promote safe and appropriate development in flood-prone areas within West Gippsland. We encourage you to read these guidelines and contact a member of our Statutory Planning Team on 1300 094 262, before you submit an application for a planning permit.
