We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Rural Drainage Officer with excellent community engagement skills to join our team. We are committed to providing an encouraging work environment that actively supports personal and professional development.

The Rural Drainage Officer will work to support the implementation of the Victorian Rural Drainage Strategy by engaging with landholders in the Moe River Flats and Kilmany Drainage areas to:

  • Determine where landholders are willing to work together to maintain their drainage system
  • Develop drainage management plans for five priority drainage systems
  • Engage with Baw Baw Shire and Wellington shires to support the transition to new rural drainage arrangements
  • Engage with drainage asset owners such as Council, VicRoads and Victrack and include their assets in drainage management plans as appropriate
  • Project management and reporting of progress to the WGCMA Board and DELWP.

The successful applicant will have knowledge of farming practices and waterway health and be able to conduct effective community engagement directly with Landowners.
