Administration Officer – Statutory Planning

About the Role

  • As our Planning Administration Officer, you will be supporting the Statutory Planning Team in delivering planning outcomes that contribute to safe, sustainable development in West Gippsland.
  • In this role, your focus will be on providing high level customer service to the community and administrative support services to the Statutory Planning Unit, ensuring accurate and timely resolution of enquiries, information requests and approvals.  


  • Assist customers to apply for Flood Advice or a Works on Waterways permit
  • Liaise with staff from local government and the development community
  • Manage inwards and outwards correspondence relating to the Authority’s statutory functions through the FloodZoom database
  • Coordinate the process for data sharing through Digitial Data Licences
  • Provide administrative support to other Victorian Catchment Management Authorities, as required.

About You

  • Highly developed and demonstrated interpersonal skills suited to developing and maintaining partnerships with diverse range of stakeholders 
  • A focus on providing high level customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders 
  • Well-developed IT skills, particularly in the Microsoft office suite of programs and database management 
  • Familiarity with planning referrals, flood advice requests and the Works on Waterways approval process highly desirable.
