Event Details

Back in 2014, Bruce Whittaker and Jillian Staton purchased a 40.5 ha block at Cape Liptrap.

Lack of power and watering points limited their ability to graze the property effectively.

Come along to this field day and listen to Bruce and Jillian  explain how they have developed the infrastructure to what it is today, to improve pasture and carrying capacity. Including paddock layout, new yards and a solar-powered watering system. An off-grid home has also been built on the property.

The new infrastructure has enabled them to implement a nutrient plan developed by Lisa Warn as part of the Healthy Soils Sustainable Farms program.

Guest speaker will be Wayne Smith, an electrician who helped design and installed the off-grid system.
