Event Details

Colin Seis is a wool and grain grower in Gulgong in the Central Tablelands of NSW. He is well known as the pioneer of pasture cropping and he is also well versed in cover cropping techniques having worked closely with Gabe Brown in the USA. Colin will share his vast experience around building soil health through the use of these cropping techniques.

Topics covered during the day will be:

  • What is the difference between cover and pasture cropping
  • Multispecies crops: summer and winter crop mixes
  • Grazing multispecies crops
  • Soil health benefits
  • Soil nutrient cycling
  • Soil ecosystem benefits
  • Insect and plant disease control.

The day will be broken up into two sessions:

Morning session – DELWP building, 574 Main Street, Bairnsdale

Afternoon session – Farm walk at Woodcote Pty Ltd, 1021 Lindenow Meerlieu Road, Bengworden
