Landcare groups will now be able to spend more time helping the environment and less time managing members thanks to the newly released Landcare in West Gippsland Membership Portal.
The online portal is available free of charge for all Landcare groups and networks in West Gippsland.
Previously Landcare groups have managed their memberships numerous of different ways, ranging from excel spreadsheets, renewal reminders in the post and receiving annual fees in an ad hoc manner throughout the year.
The portal will allow Landcare group executives to manage group memberships, collect annual fees automatically into their bank account and generate automatic reminders for annual renewal.
It allows Landcare members to sign-up, pay annual fees and change details online.
Other features of the portal include the ability to accept credit card, manual cheque and cash payments, and for treasurers to see in real time the number of financial members they have.
The portal was funded via money remaining in the disbanding GippsLandcare, agreed upon by the five West Gippsland Landcare Networks. Landcare Networks stated they wanted the portal to be easy to use, safe and secure, accessible to both groups and networks, helpful for insurance reporting and communication.
The West Gippsland CMA managed the process and ran a tender process for the development of the portal and Olivitek Software, a local software designer in Dumbalk, was the successful tenderer.
